What
is networking4therapists?
It
was started as a means of meeting others in the same field to share
ideas, make connections, share resources and help each other out.
The Complementary health field can be isolating at times and networking4therapists
aims to build bridges to expand our networks and resources.
I've
never attended a networking event before, what can I expect?
Lots
of fun! Contacts, motivation, inspiration, support and sharing are
the focus for the evening. We always include a speed-networking session
(like speed dating without the butterflies!) where you have 2 minutes
to talk one-on-one with someone, sharing whatever information you
like. Then you move on and talk to another person for 2 minutes, and
so on. It's a great way of meeting lots of other people in a very
short space of time. Afterwards you get the chance to mingle and chat
to whomever you like; perhaps people you found you had a good connection
with or maybe someone you just had a good laugh with!
I
don't know anyone, is it ok to come on my own?
Yes.
The evenings are structured so that there is always something for
you to do. At the end of the evening you get to mingle and chat freely
and by then you will have met loads of new people anyway! The aim
of the event is for you to meet new people, many of whom will be there
on their own as well. The evenings start with different types of activities
which are designed to get people laughing and ready for the event.
During the last event the evening started with a series of tongue
twisters!
Will
there be somewhere to leave my leaflets?
Yes,
we encourage you to bring loads of your business cards, brochures,
promotional materials, etc to share with others. We provide an area
for participants to leave their materials for sharing with others.
We do ask you to be respectful and allow plenty of room for everyone
else too. After all it's not just about giving out your own information
but getting information from so many others as well.
Do
I need to bring anything?
During
the event you will do a lot of talking so it's a very good idea to
bring a bottle of water. We do provide drinks and food for everyone
as well, but it's good for you to have a bottle you can keep with
you to take frequent sips from. Also, a pen and a notebook will be
useful for jotting down names and details about all the people you
will meet. Apart from your business cards and/or brochures mentioned
earlier that should be all you need.
